FRED COTTRELL DIES IN COURT

Fred C. Cottrell, 50, of 88 Throckmorton avenue, died Monday while testifying on the witness stand at the county courthouse, Freehold. Mr. Cottrell was placed on a bench in the rear of the courtroom and was beyond aid when Dr. Jacob Lewis arrived. Death was caused by a heart attack, according to Dr. Julius A. Teren, county physician.

Mr. Cottrell was born in New York city, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cottrell. He was an executive of the Sinclair Oil company at Linden 23 years, and was a World War I veteran. Mr. Cottrell was a member of the Harrisburg, Pa., American Legion post.

Surviving Mr. Cottrell are his wife, Mrs. Emma Pearce Cottrell; a daughter, Miss Jeanne L. Cottrell, living at home, and an uncle, L. Wallace Cottrell, Sr., of East Orange.

The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Flock funeral home with Rev. W. Clayton Powers, pastor of the Red Bank Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodbine cemetery, Oceanport.
