Lloyd Richard "Dick" Allen, 66, of Washington, passed away Dec. 19, 2010, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born June 10, 1944 in Parkersburg, a son of the late Dayton and Gertrude Sandy Allen. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during Vietnam and retired from DuPont as a Supervisor. Dick was a member of the Washington VFD and he enjoyed farming and participating during horse shows in his younger years.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Janet Sue Eckhart Allen; one daughter, Heather Allen of Wirt County; two stepdaughters, Kelli Wilson (Allen) of Lubeck and Stacey Hart (James) of Parkersburg; five grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua and Jade Sallee, Marissa Allen and Whitney Hart; one brother, Tom Allen; three sisters, Betty Lou Tefft, Sharlene Allen and TeeTee Athey; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Bill Allen; one sister, JoAnn Shuman; and two grandchildren, Austin Hart and Mariah Allen.

Services will held 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Entombment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
