DEATH OF JOSEPH TODD
Joseph Todd, age 77 years, a highly respected and well-to-do farmer of Rush County, residing 5 ½ miles south of Knightstown, died at his home of heart trouble on Wednesday morning at 2:30 o’clock, after an illness of about two month. He was one of the sturdy farmer s of this vicinity.
Mr. Todd was born on the farm where he died, and had lived there all of his life. He was a bachelor. His parents were Pennsylvania Dutch and came to Indiana in the early days and entered the land in Rush County. It had been in the Todd family ever since that time. Joseph was the last of a family of six children to pass away, his twin brother, Jacob Todd of the same neighborhood, preceding him in death three years ago.
Mr. Todd, whose farm comprises 220 acres, had never made a confession until a short time since, when he made it known to friends he wished to join church. The minister of the Hannegan Christian Church, Rev. George Holwalger, was notified of Mr. Todd’s intentions and he came to the Todd home, baptized him and received him into the church.
Charles Kenned and family live at the Todd farm and cared for him
Deceased is survived by two nephews, Bert and William Todd, of Marion and two nieces, Mrs. Ernest Cook, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Edna Mildred Edwards, El Dorado Springs, Missouri.
Funeral services for Mr. Todd will be held this (Friday) afternoon at 2 o’clock from his late home, conducted by Rev. George Holwager, pastor of Hannegan Christian Church. Burial will be at Little Blue River Baptist Church Cemetery, in charge of O. M. Wilson, undertaker.
