Florence Auchampaugh, 93, formerly of Buffalo, N.Y. and Sebring, Fla., died Tuesday, Oct. 31, in Kirkland Village, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Willis Auchampaugh, who died in 1991.
She taught in western New York state public schools, last teaching fourth grade at Pine Hill School, Cheektowaga, N.Y., until retiring in 1972. Previously, she taught in public schools in Jersey City, N.J., last teaching English at William L. Dickinson High School. She received her bachelor's degree and her master's degree from New York University. She was a member of the New York State Teachers Association.
She played piano and sang in the choir at Kensington Methodist Church, Buffalo, N.Y.. She later sang in the choir and was a founding member of Spring Lake United methodist Church, Sebring. She was a member of United Methodist Women.
She was a volunteer ambulance driver for the Red Cross in the port of New York and New Jersey during World War II. She was a member of the Lorida, Fla., Volunteer Fire Department auxiliary. She was a member of the Republican Club, Fishing Club and Spring Lake Homeowner's Association.
Survivors: Daughter, Ann McGrath of Easton; sister, Mildred Dick of Sebring; four grandchildren, a great-grandchild.
Services: 3 p.m. Monday, White-Van Buren Funeral Home, 1779 Main St., Delanson, N.Y. Call 2-3 p.m. Monday.
