Mrs Peter Kirkham
Mahulda, daughter of George and Rebecca Gorsage, was born in Browning Township, Schuyler County, Illinois, June 9, 1868. In 1882 she was married to James Harris and to this union five children were born, one dying in infancy. The husband passed away in 1891. In 1894 she was united in marriage with Peter Kirkham who survived her.
The family have lived in and nearBrowning most of their lives and have many friends who regard Mrs. Kirkham very highly. She had not been well for some time but her condition was not regarded as serious and her death Monday evening, August 17, at her home in Beardstown, was a shock to her family and friends
She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Effie Tweddell, three sons, Henry, Lee and John Harris, all of Beardstown, also three grandchildren, Faye Whitlow, Elmo and Paul Harris, and one great-grandchild, Cherlene Whitlow; one sister, Mrs. Nina Grove, of Ipava, Ill., and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Browning on Wednesday, August 19, at 2:30 p. m., conducted by Rev. T. W. Rippy of Middlegrove, Ill. Interment was in the Browning Cemetery.
