Funeral arrangements were incomplete early Monday for Harold H. Beney, 39, of 1545 Harrison, who was killed in an automobile accident in Slidell, La. about 6 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Beney was co-owner of the Beney Brothers Tile and Plastering company at 890 Gulf and had lived in Beaumont for the last 22 years. The accident occurred when Mr. Beney's automobile and a truck driven by Edward Patterson, 25, of Rochester, Michigan, collided on Highway 11 at the north end of the overpass near the Slidell city limits. Mr. Beney, who was enroute to Picayune, Mississippi to pick up his wife and two daughters, who were visiting there, received internal injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at Charity hospital in New Orleans. The Michigan man was seriously injured. The body was to be returned to Beaumont Monday by Carroll-Wallace Funeral home, which will announce the arrangements for the last rites. A native of Gulfport, Miss., Mr. Beney is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucille Beney; two daughters, Barbara and Norma Jean; a brother, Guy Beney; and several half sisters.
