OGDEN - Faye Christensen Brown, 86, of Ogden, died Friday, Feb. 4, 1994. She was born Feb. 18, 1907 in Elsinore, Utah. She was a twin daughter of Peter E. and Elenora Jensen Christensen.

She married Cyril D. Brown in Evanston, Wyo., on Jan. 7, 1940. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

She graduated from South Sevier High School in Monroe, Utah where she excelled in vocal music. She attended Snow College where she was a member of the Girls Glee and Chorus. She was a graduate of Utah State University where she received a bachelors of science degree in Education. She also attended the University of Seattle.

She taught school 44 years, starting her career in Annabella Aurora and then in Ogden in the Quincy and Washington schools. Her last 22 years she taught elementary music [and fourth grade] at Polk School.

She was an active member of the Ogden 12th Ward and the Mt. Ogden Ward. She was in the music department in Relief Society, Sunday School, Primary and Young Singing Group. She conducted the Mt. Ogden Choir for 20 years. She also served on the Stake Mutual Board, and she was a counselor in the Mt. Ogden Ward Relief Society.

She was president of the Aglaia Club, music coordinator in the Mt. Ogden Ward, and chorister in the Daughters of [Utah] Pioneers Chapter. She also served as a Relief Society visiting teacher for many years.

She is survived by her husband of Ogden; four sons and one daughter, MacRay C. and wife Sandra Brown, Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Douglas P. and wife Gloria Brown, Sun Valley, Idaho; Maurell D. and wife Betty Brown, Morgan; Ronald C. and wife Patricia Brown, Ogden; and Mrs. Clark (Mona) Blakeley, Ogden; one brother, Gordon Christensen, Salt Lake City; two sisters, Lucille Hanson, Price; and her twin sister, Rae Lauthner, Ogden; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Mitch Wilcox officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park.
