Daughter and heiress of Edward le Despenser and Elizabeth Berghersh, grand daughter of Sir Edward le Despenser, Anne de Ferrers, Sir Bartholomew Burghersh and Elizabeth Verdun.
She married, before 1385, John de Arundel FitzAlan, son of John de Arundel and Eleanor Mautravers. They had three sons, Sir John, Sir Edward and Sir Thomas, all knights. John died testate 14 August 1390 and was buried at Missenden Abbey, Buckinghamshire.
Elizabeth remarried after 28 April 1393 to Sir William la Zouche. They had no children.
Elizabeth died testate on 11 April 1408, her will requesting she be buried at Tewkesbury Abbey.
