Norfolk - Edna May (Ash) Forshaw, 91, passed away quietly at her home in Norfolk on February 21, 2012. Born in Yonkers, New York, she was the daughter of Albert Allison Ash and Ethel May Schofield. She and her husband Harold moved to Norfolk in 1941.
All who met her experienced her consideration and compassion for others. Those who called her Mom and Grandma also admired her independent spirit and loved her as a truly remarkable lady.
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Harold Forshaw.
She is survived by her son, Harold Forshaw (Ellen) of Urbana, Ohio, and her daughter Edna Williams (Lamar) of Titusville, Florida; her four grandchildren: Thomas Forshaw (Nancy) of Birmingham, Alabama, Laurence Forshaw of Urbana, Ohio, William Johnston (Jennifer) of Bancroft, Michigan, and Debra McCormick of Kernersville, North Carolina; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, February 25, at Forest Lawn Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure , Tidewater Affiliate, 5295 Greenwich Road, Suite 105/106, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
