James was born in Weleetka, OK, and passed away in Modesto, CA, he came to Shafter, CA with his family at age nine. After graduating from Shafter High, he joined the army and served his country from 1955-1958.
He married Betty Hawk in May 1958 and they spent 50 wonderful years together.
James was a top California radiator repairman and later became an amazing truck driver/owner operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gracey and Robert Meek, brothers J.R., Billy and Horance, his daughter Rhonda and wife Betty.
He is survived by his brother Charles (Jackie) Womack, Holister, MO. Children: Gene Womack of Stockton, CA, Kathy McCasland, Kenny and Karen Womack of Modesto, CA, he was also blessed with 15 grandchildren, they amazed him with 21 great-grandchildren and another 3 on the way. His sister-in-laws Barbara Womack and Joann Jones of Bakersfield, CA and Shirley (Bob) Pringle of Concord, CA, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held on October 14, 2011 at 2pm at Bakersfield National Cemetery, 30338 E. Bear Mountain Blvd, Arvin, CA 93203.
