Simon Martin died Tuesday night at the home of his son, Fred Martin, 1112 South Twenty-sixth street, after an illness of three months. He was born in Saxony, Germany, June 26 1857 and came to America at the age of seven years and all the rest of his life was spent in Tippecanoe county. For many years he lived in the country, but for the past several years he had made his home in Lafayette. He was a life-long member of St James Lutheran church. Mr Martins wife died 13 years ago and the following children survive: Fred martin, Mrs Frank Englert and Mrs William Bart. There are also seven grandchildren. The funeral will be held from the Frank Englert home, 1300 South Twenty-first street at two o'clock (this) Friday afternoon, followed by one of St James Lutheran church at 2:30 Rev P G Schmidt officiating Burial in Fink Cemetery.
