Leasburg- Betty Frances Greenway Loyd, 81, of 6834 US Hwy 158 died Friday, July 29, 2016. She was born in Granville County to the late Alfred Greenway and Ruby Milton Greenway. Mrs. Loyd was also preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Herman Cheatham Loyd; one son, Herman Junior Loyd; two brothers, Joey Greenway and PeeWee Greenway; and one sister, Elsie Greenway.
She retired from Tultex after over 30 years of service. Mrs. Loyd was an avid gardener and loved to work in the yard. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
Surviving are one son, George C. Loyd, of Charleston, SC; four brothers, Otis Greenway, Thomas Greenway, Jimmy Greenway, and Cordell Greenway, all of Oxford; one sister, Beatrice Wrenn, of Oxford; five grandchildren, Chris Loyd, G.C. Loyd, D.J. Loyd, Spencer Loyd, and Ariel Loyd; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Rob Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service and other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Chris Loyd, G.C. Loyd, D.J. Loyd, Spencer Loyd, Kelly Pulliam, and Dustin West.
