Edith Agan, 89, of Numa, died on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at the Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Charles and Laura(Rash)Miller on August 20, 1922 in Exline, Iowa. She received her education in a rural Appanoose Country School.

On July 30, 1938, Edith was united in marriage to Homer Agan in Unionville, Missouri. She worked for a time at the Box Factory, and later, Golden Age Care Center in Centerville.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Homer Agan; two sons, Clifford Agan and Carl Agan; and a son-in-law, Jack McGrann; sisters, Mary Kiefer, Hazel Garr, Mabel Earles and two in infancy; Brothers, Bert, Jake, Pete, Phil and Laurel Miller.

Edith is survived by: her sons, Wendall Agan and his wife, Ann of Davenport, Iowa, Dallas Agan and his wife, Louise of Buffalo, Iowa, Russell Agan and his wife, Maxine of Buffalo, Iowa, Danny Agan and his wife, Dixie of Centerville, Iowa, Neal Agan of Ottumwa, Iowa, Mike Agan and his wife, Peggy of Mystic, Iowa, Duane Agan and his wife, Barb of Maryville, Tennessee and Olen Agan and his wife, Buffy of Geneseo, Illinois: daughters, Marietta McGrann of Mystic, Iowa, Marilyn Bourland and her husband, Mike of Peoria, Illinois, Linda Brown and her huaband, Scott of Promise City, Iowa and Sheila Campbell of Jamestown, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Carol Agan of Centerville, Iowa; Forty-three grandchildren and numerous great grandchilddren and great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Gary Forsee officiating. Burial will be at Numa Cemetery in Numa. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012 from 2-8 pm at the funeral home with the family present from 6-8 pm. Memorials can be made to the Numa Cemetery Association or to Hospice of Central Iowa.
