Frances Cwynar, 80, of Vestal, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday May 22, 2010, at her home. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley J. Cwynar; her parents, Sarah and Martin Leonard. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley R. (Patricia) Cwynar, Norwich, NY, Joseph M. (Joanne) Cwynar, Buffalo, NY, Michael (Carol) Cwynar, Vestal; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sallyanne (Gary) Kohut, Apalachin, Francine (Robert) Edson, Vestal; four grandchildren, Joseph Ryan Cwynar, Angela M. Cwynar, Roman P. Cwynar, Melvin Joseph Harris and several step-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley (John) Sweden, Vestal; her aunt; Connie Katunak, Syracuse; a special niece and godchild, Lisa Bodnar, Apalachin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sophie Henkiel, Florence and John Wisniewski, and John Christina; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was an active member of St. Casimir's Church, Endicott, a member and former President of its Altar Rosary Society and a member of the Weekly Adoration at the Church of the Holy Family, Endwell. She was a Registered Nurse and retired from the Vestal Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:30 a.m. from the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc., 1905 Watson Blvd., Endicott and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Casimir's Church where a funeral mass will be held. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. St. Casimir's Altar Rosary Society will meet Tuesday 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home
