Ethel Pearl Beltz, 96, of 120 S. Prince St., died at 8:45 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2003, in Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 6, 1906 in Southampton Township, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of James Albert and Zora Adaline Gabler Reed. She was a member of Ebenezer Church of God, Orrstown, where she was an elder.

George Dewey Beltz, her husband, died on Dec. 13, 1968. Five brothers, four sisters, two grandsons and two great-grandsons also preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Charles E. of Newburg; three daughters, Evelyn M. Shearer and Delores M. Smith, both of Shippensburg, and Janet E. Whisler of Newville; eight grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, 17 Apr 2003 in Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., conducted by Pastor Timothy Bash. Interment in Otterbein Cemetery, near Newburg in Lurgan Township. (Source: Public Opinion, Chambersburg PA, Mon., 14 Apr 2003, Page 4)
