Although Rose ended up dying young, she packed a lot of experience into her short lifetime. On 04 Feb 1912 in Fresno County, California, "Rosebell" married Chester Howard West of Colorado. The marriage ended in divorce. As a now single man, Chester got drafted into service for World War I, became a hero and was awarded the congressional medal of honor. Chester later remarried, but came to a sad end in 1935, murdered by his West Virginia landlord.
On 18 Nov 1916, also in Fresno County, California, Rose married James Henry LaMont of Iowa. James was a furniture merchant. Together they raised two children — a daughter, Marion Lucretia, born in 1915, and a son, Charles Henry LaMont, born in 1921. Unfortunately, Rose died on 03 January 1923 in Kern County, California at the age of 32. Her daughter was 8, and her son was not quite 2 years old. Rose was buried in Union Cemetery in Bakersfield in plot 1202.
James remarried the next year to Beulah Mae Nicholson of Tennessee. James and Beulah had two children together, but ended up divorcing before the 1940 census. Rose's son Charles died on 10 March 1945 during World War II; three weeks later James died on 31 March 1945 in Kings County, California. James was buried next to his wife Rose in Union Cemetery in Bakersfield. Their son Charles' gravestone is also in the same plot.
