Coy Ottis Cole, 81, of Route 2, Temple, died on April 19, in an area hospital following an extended illness.

Born on March 5, 1901, in Paulding County, he was the son of the late George Washington and Ida Leathers Cole. He was a farmer and also operated a saw mill. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Cole is survived by his wife, Mrs. Flora Traylor Cole; two sons, Frank Cole of Cedartown and Wayne Cole of Temple; one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Jeanette) Cole of Temple; one brother, Roy Cole of Temple; four sisters, Mrs. Gennie Alexander of Atlanta; Mrs. Virgie McLarty of Villa Rica; Mrs. Belle Williams of Rockmart; and Mrs. Gordie Miller of Temple.

Three grandchildren, Sue Millians, Annette Ivey and Joe Hulsey, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 20, at 4 p.m. from the chapel of the Jones and sons Funeral Home in Villa Rica with the Rev. Jesse Howell and Dr. Gene Rainwater officiating. Interment followed in the Union Church Cemetery with the following nephews serving as pallbearers: Charles Cole, Lowell Cole, Curtis Miller, Jack Cole, Jerry Cole and Paul McLarty.

The Jones and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
