Served in Co. "L", 28th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry until transferred with all of his company on Oct 28, 1862 to Co "A" 147 Pennsylvania Vol. Infantry. Enlisted Aug 22, 1861-Discharged at end of term of service August 29, 1864. Pension for Service in Civil War. Unpublished diary and war-time letters to wife. Married Reumah Wood-Daughter of Burris D. and Julia (Blackford/Blachford) Wood. Emily A. 31 Dec. 1861; Jessie P 7 Nov. 1866 Thomas M. Jr. 8 July 1870; Edna E. 6 June 1878. All the info was from the army papers. So, Thomas and his wife Annie had 8 children - 4 died and 4 survived.Great-Grandfather to Joan Reumah Evans and Agnes Evans Gower.
