Sidney Lee Ruff Jr., 77 , died Saturday night at the local hospital after a short illness.

A native of Nebo, NC and a son to the late Sidney Lee Ruff Sr. and Mildred Stacy Ruff ;; also preceded in death by his wife Sara Cameron Ruff.
He graduated from Waycross High School in 1933 and attended the Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Ga. He was the office manager of the Modern Builders Supply from 1977-1983, after being associated with the King Brothers Motor Company (later John King Ford Inc.) from 1936-1975, where he started as assistant bookkeeper and moving up to accountant, sales manager, general manager and vice- president.

He was a B-24 Bomber pilot with the 15th Air Force in Italy during World War II and retired from the Air Force Reserve in 1976 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
His decorations including the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
He was baptized at the Waycross First United Methodist Church in 1926.

Survived by his two sons: Al Ruff and Mike Ruff (wife Suzanne) .. all of Lawrenceville
a sister Mrs. Lloyd M. Jones (Betty)
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
