From the 5/27/1921 Van Wert, Ohio, Twice-A-Week Bulletin: "J. W. Sherry died at noon Tuesday due to a complication of diseases at his home, corner of Third and Monroe streets. Mr. Sherry, who was eighty years of age, is survived by his wife, three sons and three daughters, Mrs. Harry Bowman, of this city, being the only one of his children residing here. The deceased had lived here for a number of years, but spent most of his life at Ansonia. The funeral and burial services have not been planned."
