The following is from Carla, Audrey's Granddaughter:
When I turned 16 years old and Grandmother had moved to Bossier City, following her second husband's (Yoda Whitmire) death, I spent every Sunday with her. I would pick her up and we would go to church together and either go to Burger King for a Whopper, her favorite hamburger, or to her little apartment to share lunch. She was a very big influence in my coming to know The Lord. Grandmother had a very sharp mind up until about the last 24 hours of her life, so Mom and I are certain she knew exactly who was there to visit her when y'all came.
Audrey's ashes are buried in the private Cavin Cemetery in/near Rose Hill, Lee County, Virginia. Access to this cemetery is difficult.
