Mr. Jones was born May 12, 1899 in Washington County, son of the late Harris Jones and the late Mrs. Anna Yates Jones. He was a retired farmer and member of Tabernacle Methodist Church.
He was married to the late Gladys Brooks.
Survivors include one son, James Allen Jones of Sandersville; daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson, of Milledgeville; four grandchildren Glyn Coxwell, Elissa Kay Coxwell, Camilla Jones and Lori Jones; one brother, Ray D. Jones of Sandersville; four sisters, Mrs. Julian Helton, Mrs. Marshall Leverett and Mrs. Jessie Yates, all of Sandersville and Mrs. James Meeks of Milledgeville, several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Active pallbearers were Wade Brantley, Roy Brantley, Howard Brantley, Malcom Prosser, Milton Griffeth, and Bennie Turner.
Mayo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
