Thomas H. Drennen was born in Jan 1754 in Atrium county Ireland to Daniel Drennen and Martha Dreamer. He came to America in 1770. He served in the Revolutionary War. He settled in Elizabeth township in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and married Isabelle Moore of Allegheny Pennsylvania. They had a family of seven Children five girls and two boys. One of his sons was Col. John Drennen the founder of Van Buren, Arkansas and was appointed by President Taylor as Superintendent of Indian Affairs for the Southwestern Superintendency.

He died in Allegheny county Pennsylvania on December 22, 1840 at the age of 86.
