ANDERSON – Maxine Smith Price, 71, Anderson, died Thursday, Jan. 29, at her residence after an extended illness.
Born Aug. 5, 1926, in Arcadia, she was employed by Middletown Medical Clinic and Fred Stevens Insurance, Daleville. She attended Alexandria High School and was a member of the Vermillion Christian Church of Alexandria.
Surviving are her husband: Emmett Price; one son: Max Smith of Anderson; three step-sons: David Price of Pendleton, Keith Price of Athens, and Kevin Price of Anderson; two sisters: Laura Wehner and Margaret Hartley, both of Anderson.
Also surviving are two granddaughters, seven step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Smith, who died in 1987 after 44 years of marriage.
Services were 10 a.m. Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral home with the Revs. Keith Cramer and Richard True officiating. Visitation was 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial was in Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Vermillion Christian Church or St. John's Hospice.
