Vintress Bivins, 58, life long resident of Pemiscot County, died Wednesday, May 6, at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital and his funeral was held Friday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Wardell. The Rev. Elven Hensley officiated and burial was in Wardell Memorial Cemetery with Jimmy Osburn Funeral Home service.
Mr. Bivens was born at Hayward July 5, 1911, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Bivins. On September 17, 1932, in Caruthersville, he was married to Miss Violet Pauline Ring and they have lived in Wardell for many years.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Violet Bivins of the home; three sons, Harold Gene Bivins of Wardell, Bobby Joe Bivins of Mammoth Springs, Ark., Lemuel Allen Bivins of Portageville; a brother, Cullen Bivins of Doniphan; A half brother, Sam Stanfield of Cape Girardeau and ten grandchildren.
