The death of Mrs. Charlotte Mallory Smith, wife of Dr. G. O. Smith, occurred at her home in Odessa, after a week's illness, Sunday morning at eight-thirty. She was sixty-eight years old. She was a daughter of Aaron Mallory and Alice Beardsley Mallory and the grand-daughter of Stephen Beardsley, one of the pioneer settlers of this place.
Mrs. Smith was born near Alpine, the third of a family of five, three of whom survive.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. G O. Smith, two daughters, Miss Helen of Odessa and Mrs. Alice Lyon of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. S. L. Hunter of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Miss Cora Mallory of Burdett, and one brother, J. D. Mallory, also of Burdett.
Mrs. Smith was a devoted wife and mother and a kind neighbor and friend, a large circle of friends sympathize with the family in their sorrow.
