[William was a] pompous stern man loved his horse, loved his home and Mother a great reader & disciplinarian. His younger children stood at meals before him. Ate what was served, spoke when spoken to. Had to eat corn meal once a week Had to use a tooth brush were taught how to walk (he with a cane) following him. Also to tread lightly going upstairs[. D]ied throat consumption.
