William Lewis "Bill" Miller, 57, Clark Store Rd., died at 10:10 am, Sunday at his home after a long illness.
Services will be at 2pm Wednesday at Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Aldridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Miller family cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 today at the funeral home.
A native of Greenville, Miller was born May 13, 1938 son of Bessie Pauline Wells Miller, Christian County and the late Bernie G. Miller.
A former deputy sheriff, he served for 14 years under former sheriffs David Norfleet, Frank Gary, and Bill Dillard. In 1987 he was named Officer of the Year. He was a retired farmer and teacher assistant for the Christian County Board of Education. He was a member of the New Palestine Baptist Church where he was teacher of an adult Sunday school class, a member of the choir, and the church brotherhood. He was well known for serving as the cook for many church and community barbecues and events.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Grace Miller, one son, Timmy Lee Miller, Hopkinsville; two daughters, Beverly Jane Miller, Hopkinsville, Natalie Renee Miller Corbitt, Bowling Green; three sisters, Mrs. John (Mary Ann) Hawkins, and Shirley Henderson, both of Hopkinsville, Mrs. Pete (Peggy) Grace, Christian County and one grandchild.
