A Viking man has went to a better place

WEST HAVEN – Jimmy J. Simpson, 55, passed Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at McKay- Dee Hospital in Ogden.
He was born April 27, 1956 in Provo, Utah to Leland Lynn and Marilyn Forbes Simpson.

Jimmy married Sandra Weyburn on November 10, 1978 in Elko, Nevada. On May 14, 1980, his pride and joy Julia was born.

He was a veteran in the U.S. Army serving in Germany as a helicopter mechanic.

Jimmy graduated from Ben Lomond High school in 1974, and studied auto body at Weber State for 4 years.
Friends and co-workers knew him as "Jimbo". He was a kind and gentle, loving man and if he shook your hand you became his friend.

He worked in aircraft maintenance at Hill AFB, retiring after 34 years of service.

Fishing was tops on his hook ya the big one! He also liked hunting, and camping. He was a master of the saws, paint brush and color pencils, loved wood working. He was a jack of all trades but a master of none. He will be loved and missed by many.

He is survived by his wife Sandra, daughter, Julia (Brian) Simpson Brown, one grandchild, Karley Marie, siblings, Russell Simpson, Carolyn (Brian)Weston, Clay Simpson, Leona Simpson, Kaylene (Lee) Emden and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Blair Simpson.

The family would like to thank the emergency response and McKay-Dee 3rd floor staff for the amazing and caring crews and staff.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help with headstone expenses.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy. A viewing will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to services.

Interment, Hooper City Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded.
