The 1925 Portland Directory lists Benjamin J. and Blanche S. Dodge as owners of 8 Best Street and states Mr. Dodge is postal letter carrier #736. About 1942 he moved from being a letter carrier to a clerk at the main Post Office on Forest Ave. The 1943 and 1944 Portland Directories list Mr. Dodge as a janitor at the Longfellow School on Stevens Avenue.

The Maine State archives show a Benjamin J. Dodge and Blanche S. Morehouse, both of Island Falls, Me., being married on September 6, 1905.

The 1947 and 1949 Portland Directories list him as being retired. The last mention on him is in the 1953 edition (for the year 1952) which lists his name only as his wife Blanche had passed away. The 1954 edition indicated he had removed to Bangor.
