Madison – Mary J. Stutz, age 83, formerly of 3514 Concord Avenue, died Friday, October 29, 1982, in a local nursing home. She was born February 22, 1899 at Kiev, Russia. She came to America in 1914 and to Madison in 1920. She is survived by four daughters, Shay Van Wyk of Appleton, Wisconsin, Alyce Beld of Madison, Ruth Bengel of Erie, Pennsylvania and Gloria Stutz of Madison; a son Donald of Madison; eighteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; two daughters, Maudia and Marie; a son, Howard; two grandchildren, Dick Van Wyk and Julie Beld; and a brother Nick Dowhy. Funeral services will be held in The Gunderson funeral home, 5203 Monona Drive, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 1. Monsignor Francis Doherty will be officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 31, at the funeral home.
