Clyde E. Beisser, 85, of Duncan Falls, died at 4:57 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 1997, at Hospice of Genesis Health Care Systme, Zanesville.

Born Aug. 9, 1912, in Philo, he retired from Beisser-Downey Oil Company in 1977. Mr. Beisser was a member of Faith United Methodist Church; a 50-year member of Anchor Lodge 283 F&AM; a member of Zanesville Chapter 9; Council 12; Cyrene Commandery 10; Aladdein Temple Shrine; and Zavi Shrine Club.

Surviving are one son, James f. (Marilyn) Beisser of Zanesville; two daughters, Phyllis J. Thompson of Zanesville, and Deborah a. (S. Alex) Williams Jr. of Columbia, S.C.; two sisters-inlaw, Mrs. Forrest (Lydia) Lashley, and Mrs. Howard (Dora) Beisser; one grandson; four granddaughters; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Sophia Maria Eppley Beisser; his wife, Bernadetta Freisinger Beisser, whom he married Oct. 17, 1937; sister, Hilda M. Beisser; brother, Cleo L. Beisser; brother, Elmer E. Beisser; brother, Walter V. Beisser; and sister, Florence M. Swingle.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave, with Masonic services at 6:30 p.m.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 1997, at the funeral home, with Pastor William Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Methodist Church.
