Dexter Alford, 86, of Hope, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012, in Hope.
He was born November 6, 1925, in Washington, to William A. and Cora B. Baker Alford. He worked as a dairy farmer and was a lifetime member and deacon of New Hope Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; son, Jim Alford; and brother, Horace Alford. He is survived by his wife, Gracie Alford, of Hope; one son, Larry Don Alford and wife, Teresa, of Hot Springs; one daughter, Terri Stark and husband, Scott, of Carrollton, Texas; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, February 10, from 5-7 p.m. at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home.Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 11, at 10 a.m. in the Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Neal Ridling officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 3719 Highway 278 West, Hope, Ar., 71801
