JOSEPH GEYER, 80, DIES AFTER WEEKS ILLNESS
Joseph Geyer, 80, died at his home Monday morning at 1:30 following a weeks illness from complication of diseases. He was born March 16, 1852 in Union Township, the son of John Geyer and had made his home at the present location for 46 years where he followed the occupation of farming. He was married to Rachel Miller on February 4, 1875 (Elkhart County, Indiana), who preceded him in death.
Surviving are the following children, Orb, Lon, Edward and Harley Geyer all of Nappanee; a brother, John Geyer of Nappanee; two sisters, Saloma Hartsough, Syracuse, Ind., and Susanna Weybright of New Paris, Ind., eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Union Center Church with the Rev. John Frederick of the Church of the Brethren of which he was a member, officiating, assisted by the Rev. David Miller. Burial was in the Union Center Cemetery under the direction of Undertaker A.E. Wright.
