Dorothy was a member of Colonial Heights Church of Christ. She loved to read, jigsaw puzzles, her pets, and spending time with her family especially her great-grandson. Dorothy was proud to be a "Yooper" - one who is from the upper peninsula of Michigan. She was a wonderful, sweet, loving person and will be missed dearly.
Dorothy leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Carl Brining; two children, Rodney Brining and his wife Yvonne of Norfolk, and Sandra Bonnell of Virginia Beach; her granddaughter, Chantel Pabon of Portsmouth; her great-grandson, Anthony Pabon; and her sister, Lucille A. Carron and her husband James Hartley.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk.
