Willis Henry Buehler (Jiggs), was born March 24, 1917 at Dorrance, KS to Emil and Adelia Marie (Koetkemeyer) Buehler. His death occurred Nov. 18, 1989 in the St. Francis Regional Medical Center at Wichita, KS at the age of 72 years, 7 months, and 24 days.

On May 22, 1932 Willis was confirmed at the Evangelical Emanuel Lutheran Church at Dubuque, KS by the Rev. William J. Lind. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Cunningham at Wilson, KS by the Rev. William J. Lind on Nov. 13, 1938.

Willis attended the rural Nicholas School through the eighth grade and graduated from the Dorrance High School with the class of 1936. He worked for Kaw Pipe Line most of his adult life and retired Jan. 1, 1980. Willis was a loving father, husband, brother, and friend and neighbor of many.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Phyllis of the home; two daughters: Jolene Dougherty of Rose Hill; Darita Mermis of Gorham; two sons: Wayne of Seminole, FL; and Dennis of Winfield. Also eight grandchildren: Warren and Stuart Dougherty of Manhattan; Connie Mermis of Hays; Kim Mermis of LaCrosse; Emilee and Keith Mermis of Gorham; Wade Buehler of Clemson, SC; and Amy Buehler of Seminole, FL; as well as a brother Harvey of Gt. Bend, and two sisters: Irene Heffel of Luray; and Verna Socha of Covina, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Walter and Leo.
