Funeral services for Henry H. Bender, 73, 505 W. 6th St., will be conducted from St. John Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Pastor Earnest Pihl officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Russell.

A lifetime resident of Russell and a retired farmer, Mr. Bender died Saturday afternoon at Russell City Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past year.

He was born April 10, 1898, in Russell, and married Theresa Ehrlich in Russell on June 11, 1922.

Survivors are: The widow, of the home; three sons, Henry A. and Chester Bender, both of Russell; and Fredrick Bender, Deerfield, Kan.; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Bridges, Russell, and Mrs. A. E. Reuber and Mrs. George Moss, both of Hutchinson; also his mother, Mrs. Mary Bender, the Wilson Nursing Home in Wilson; five brothers, Eddie of Russell, Bennie, Herman, Carl and Lawrence, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Amelia Sitz, Gorham, Mrs. Godfrey Uhrich, Oakley, Mrs. Jake Wassamiller [Wassemiller], Houghton, Mich., Mrs. Bertha Schultheiss and Mrs. Frances [Francis] Pabitsky [Pabitzky], both of Los Angeles; 21 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
