The funeral for the Rev. Lyston Gunter, 76, of Livingston, SC, was held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2001, at Norway Baptist Church in Norway, SC, with the Rev. John Foy officiating. Burial will be in Two Mile Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery in Norway.
Rev. Gunter died Friday, June 15, 2001.
He was born in Wagener, SC, a son of the late Kit Gunter and Mattie Hall Gunter. He was a retired Baptist Minister and a Mason. He was also retired from Koyo in Orangeburg.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lois J. Gunter of the home; two sons, Jessie E. Gunter of Orangeburg, SC, and L. Andy Gunter of of Reevesville, SC; a stepson, William F. Carson of Summerville, SC; a stepdaughter, Rachel C. Stacy of Livingston, SC; two sisters, Alma Williams of Lexington, SC, and Susie Cooper of Perry, SC; a brother, Cellis Gunter of Lexington, SC; two grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
The family suggest memorials be made to the Parkinson Research Foundation or the American Heart Association.
