Bettie Jane Boyd Robinson, 81, of Martin, died Monday, March 9, 2009, at Henderson County Community Hospital in Lexington. Funeral services for Mrs. Robinson will be held today, Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery in Martin. Mace Jett will officiate the services.
Mrs. Robinson formerly worked at Sharon Manufacturing Company and was a retired beautician. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Robinson was born July 23, 1927 in Martin to the late James W. Boyd and Ada King Boyd. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Robinson was also preceded in death by her husband, Lucian Robinson; and a sister, Martha Sue Fuller.
Mrs. Robinson is survived by a son, Bob Robinson of Martin; two daughters, Suzanne Buttrey of Martin, and Renee Melton of Lexington; a sister, Ruby Bragg of Martin; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
