           Lester Man Dies In Local Hospital

James Fenton Winebrenner, 58, of Lester, died in a local hospital at 5:30 a.m. yesterday following a brief illness.

Born in Nicholas County on April 17, 1893, he was the son of G. H. and Nancy Walker Winebrenner.

He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Missionary Baptist Church at Lester where he was also superintendent of the Sunday School. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 32 at Beckley, having served in World War I. He had been a resident of Raleigh County for the past 24 years.

Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the church at Lester by the Rev. Owen Lilly, assisted by the Rev. C. W. Shafer of Poca. Burial will follow in the Calfee Cemetery at Mt. Tabor.

The body will be taken to the residence at Lester at 4 p.m. today from the Calfee Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bessie Ripptoe Winebrenner; his step-mother, Mrs. Hettie Winebrenner of Rupert; two brothers, G. E. and J. W. Winebrenner, both of Gauley Bridge; three sisters, Mrs. J. D. Crane of St. Joseph, Mo.; Mrs. Ina Kincaid of Beckley, and Mrs. W. T. Boles of Gauley Bridge; and a daughter, Hope Winebrenner of Lester.
