Bill Wallace officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Columbia.
A native of Maury County, he was the son of the late Claude and Roberta Martin Bassham. He was retired from the United States Air Force and a member of the Park City Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Kelley Bassham of Fayetteville; three daughters, Patricia Schumacher, Carla Kimbrough and Kimberly Hollis all of Fayetteville; three sons, Donald Bassham Jr. of Wilson, Ark., Kelly Bassham of Huntsville, Ala., and Brett Bassham of Fayetteville; two brothers, Carl Bassham and C.T. Bassham of Flint, Mi.; a sister, Beatrice Lovett of New Caney, Texas and nine grandchildren.
