Early Life: Born ninth of twelve children, Arline grew up in Vernal where she walked to school uphill both ways, tolerated her brothers teasing, helped her mother wash clothes on a scrub board, and learned to love reading, books and education.

Life's Work/Service/Interests: In 1939, while working as a secretary/receptionist in Vernal, Utah, Arline met and married Israel C. Heaton in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They have six children and a total of 105 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arline's home was always open. In addition to her six children, she mothered many others including neighborhood children and four girls who came as part of the Indian Placement Program. Industrious, strong-willed and energetic, she taught her children the value of working hard, serving others, budgeting and doing their best. Arline's whole-wheat hotcakes and homemade bread are legendary, as is her love of learning, gardening, and music; especially singing to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arline loves her family dearly and was passionate about doing family history. On her 83rd birthday, she bought an updated computer to help her better do genealogy. She has an unshakeable testimony of our Savior and has served in many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Two of her favorite callings were as teacher and missionary. Arline served a stake mission, and then after Israel retired, they served missions in Hyde Park Visitors Center in London, England, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and in the Oak Hills 1st Ward in Provo, Utah. Arline Hardy Heaton, 95, passed away on October 6, 2013 in Provo, Utah. She went home to her Heavenly Father and a joyous reunion with family and friends who preceded her there.
Survived By: Five of her six children: Cathy (Jim) Blaisdell, Valarie (Wade) Davis, Richard (Valerie) Heaton, Lorie (Greg) Burningham, Robert (Lynda) Heaton; and one brother, Charles Harold Hardy.
Preceded In Death By: Her husband, daughter, Vickie (Vance) Randall; grandson, Curtis Randall, and great grandson, Ethan Davis.
