Georgia Caroline Gunter Teague died Jan. 25, 2005, just 4 days shy of her 87th birthday, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Jan. 29, 1918 to Thestius B. Gunter and Irma Gunter, and was the oldest of 4 children. She grew up on a dairy farm in the rolling Georgia hills near the area now occupied by the Mall of GA. She married Lawrence Exum Teague in 1938. They had 5 children, the first dying as an infant. When her husband returned from World War II, they raised their children in Decatur and Avondale Estates, GA. She and her husband were acitve members of Avondale Methodist, Avondale Patillo Methodist and Mt. Bethel UMC. She came to know the Lord at an early age while attending Rock Springs UMC. Survived by children, L. Barry (Carol) Teague, Dennis Gunter (Cheri) Teague, Ronnie Teague, Lynda Caroline Teague (Marshall) Ausburn: 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Doris Gunter Bell and Helen Gunter (Jim) McCollum; nieces and nephews. Funeral Thurs. at Mt. Bethel UMC, Marietta with services conducted by Dr. Randy Michler and Rev. Will Parker.
