Mary Louise is the daughter of Edgar M and Amanda McPhail Smith of New york. She married the Honorable Joseph Francis Daly June 18, 1890, at the home of her father. The Right Rev. Msr. Preston, D.D. Vicar General, officiated. After a short wedding trip they sailed to Europe for their honeymoon. She was Joseph's second wife. She was noted for composing "The Suffragist's' America".
