Mrs. Ida M. Columbia

CHETOPA-- Mrs. Ida M. Columbia, 91, a member of a pioneer Chetopa family, died yesterday at a hospital in Topeka after a long illness.
Mrs. Columbia was born Dec. 19, 1867, at Lawrence, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Myers.
She came to Chetopa at the age of 17 and was married here July 20, 1888 to W. H. Columbia. A farmer and stockman, he died in 1939.
She is survived by a son, Elmer W. Columbia, Parsons lawyer; a daughter, Mrs. Helen O'Connell, Nevada, Mo.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Mrs. Juanita Sterrett, died in 1950.
Mrs. Columbia belonged to the Evergreen Rebekah Lodge and Excelsior Chapter 86, Order of Eastern Star.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. J. W. White. OES services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be in Memorial Lawn in Parsons
