Kenneth C. Lawrence, 82, of Larry Drive, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2005, at High Point Regional Hospital.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church, Lexington, where he was a member, by the Revs. Michael Greer and Douglas Smith. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Lawrence was born in Grapevine, Ark., on Dec. 26, 1922, to Gilbert Vasco and Emma Ginnett Lawrence. He was married to his first wife, Magdalene Hartman, Sept. 22, 1945, who passed away June 11, 1974. He was married to his present wife, Carol Ann Hunt, on Oct. 17, 1982. He was a former board member and Sunday school teacher at his church. Mr. Lawrence served in the 320th Inf. of the 35th Division of the U.S. Army in the five major battles of Europe and was awarded the Bronze Star medal. He also served in the Army Reserves and the North Carolina National Guard. He was retired as a paramedic with Davidson County Emergency Medical Services. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, stepmother, Hester Plunket Lawrence, and brothers, Claude and wife, Averice, J.C. Lawrence, of Grapevine, and Cecil Lawrence and his wife, Anna, of Lexington.

Surviving are his daughter, Elizabeth Lawrence and her husband, Charles Humphrey, of Mooresville; three grandchildren, Angela Cole, Camille Phillips and her husband, Kelly, and Slade Cole and his wife, Joanna; a brother, Kirby Lawrence of Grapevine, Ark.; niece, Emma Milam of Lexington; two grandchildren, Stone and Slade Phillips; and special friends, Bryan Scyphers and Marsha Myers.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, and other times at the home.
