William Porter Stephens was found deceased at a AA House at 2311 Preston St. in downtown Houston. William was seen on the 5th for a heart attack. All that is known about his interment is his body was donated to the Texas Dental School in Houston on the 14th of February 1969.
William leaves behind his wife Emma D. (McCleary) Stephens and a son William, and two daughters Mary Ann and Jennie Jane all of Niles Michigan.
Williams' death certificate says he was born 17 April 1910 and it says he was born in Camden, Benton Co., Tennessee. In all of my research I have located a birth record that has proven that he was born on the 9th and in Bakerville, Humphreys Co., Tennessee just across the county line near Camden.
William never really knew when he was born nor where. When William fell ill in Houston and went to the hospital for care he gave the caregivers the only information he knew as to be true which ended up on the death certificate.
I am Williams' granddaughter and I would be very grateful for any information. If anyone, anyone at all has any information no matter how small it maybe I would be very grateful if you would contact me. I never had the chance to know him in life and I'd like to learn more about him and his side of the family.
