Charles Cornelius Davies, 53, died at 11:05 AM Tuesday [March 14, 1972] in Leslie Nursing Home at Buck Creek, where he had been a patient since Aug. He was injured Nov. 24, 1959, when he fell from a scaffold at the General Foods plant here. Born in Parke County, he had resided most of his life in this area. In 1940, he was married to Beverly Jeane Primmer, and she died in February 1955. In July 1955, he married Beatrice M. Wood, who survives.

Mr. Davies was employed as a cement finisher and had worked for various contracting firms here. He was a member of Buck Creek United Methodist Church, F&AM Transitville Lodge 425, and Plasterers and Cement Masons Local 121.

Surviving with his widow are three sons, Robert Lynn Davies of Los Angeles, CA, Charles C. Davies, Jr. and Dennis C. Davies, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Orpha Hites of Corvina, CA; two sisters, Bertha (Mrs. Charles) Gue of Corvina, CA, and Blanche (Mrs. Leo) Bardwell of Clarion, IA; four brothers, Clarence Davies of Brookston, George Davies of Lafayette, Chester Davies of New Richmond, and Roy Davies of Sunnyvale, CA; a half-brother, John Hites of Portland, OR; also several grandchildren.
