Virginia Ellen "Jennie" Kessler was the daughter of Christian B. Kessler and Mary Smith. She married Bainbridge Curtis.

"Mrs. Samuel [sic] Curtis died at her home in Chula early Tuesday morning of a complication of ailments from which she had been a sufferer for several years. Her death had been expected by her relatives and friends.
Mrs. Curtis was 58 years of age and had only recently moved to Chula with her husband and daughter from Jackson township.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Miss Carrie Curtis of Chula, and Mrs. V. E. Parker of Milan." The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune (Chillicothe, Missouri), June 18, 1912
