Giles H. Thornburgh, 89, died Saturday [Jan 25] morning at a Topeka Nursing home where he had lived for several years.
Mr. Thornburgh was born June 23, 1868, at Thornburgh Station, southeast of Potter, which was named after the Thornburgh family. His parents were Pleasant and Sarah Henderson Thornburgh.
He was farmer and moved to his home in Potter from his farm upon retiring.
Surviving are a son, Charles Thornburgh, Los Angeles, Calif., a sister, Mrs. Ella Turner, Oklahoma City, Okla., and a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Potter Community Church. The Rev. John Hodge officiated. Burial in the family lot in Round Prairie Cemetery. -- Leavenworth Times.
